Most of you may not have heard of this name. Well, rightly so as such names don't really glam the media so much. One of the most upright Police officers (IPS) of his times of the Bihar cadre, Manoje retired during the later part of 2012. Ranked Third across India & top in Bihar, this IPS officer kept the Corrupt & Offenders on their toes wherever he went to perform the duty unlike many who went past him to glorify the highest rank of a Police Post. Alma mater of IIT Kharagpur & Doctorate from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Dr. Ashok Khemka, an IAS officer of 1991 batch, was recently in the news for his action against land deals done between Government of Haryana & Robert Vadra, son-in-law of UPA President Sonia Gandhi. Dr Khemka is known for un-earthing & taking strict action against Corrupt. The testimony to this fact comes from the very 40 transfers that he had to go through in his career so far. His tryst with apathetic Indian politics started since the times when he was transferred 9 times in 5 years for not bowing to the Political masters unsavoury demands. Currently he is serving as MD, Haryana Seeds Development Corporation, a yet another shunting although claimed to be a regular transfer, for an honest & upright IAS officer like him.

An upright IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre, Srinivas took on the Liquor mafia with patrons including the likes of powerful Politicians & Sr Bureaucrats including police officers. Immediately after Srinivas exposed the syndicate, he got his marching orders to coastal security wing. His transfer was fought tooth & nail by his immediate supervisor IPS Bhoopathi Babu as well who heads the Anti Corruption wing & the order was challenged in the AP High Court which asked the state governmnet to reconsider its decision. It looks like finally Courts will have to come to the rescue of these upright officers, in India.
Topper of IIT Chennai's Computer Science Department & so in the IAS exams, this 1991 batch IAS officer is one of his kind. Known for always taking tough stance against Un-justifiable & Criminal acts, he has taken head-on some of the leading but Corrupt politicians in Kerala, much to their discomfort. Like an honest officer, he too has met with the fate of shunting many a times but as they say "Honesty is not a policy, it's a state of mind", we are sure this gentleman will do wonders wherever he is posted. An IFS officer of the 2002 batch, posted in Haryaya at the time, Sanjiv opened the lid on the alleged misuse of public money to import rare plants for a private herbal park, apparently belonging to a local politician at Fatehabad. He had also opposed tooth & nail the construction of a canal through Saraswati wildlife sanctuary by felling trees at a very large scale which was being done in complete violation of the Wildlife protection Act. At Hissar, he had sealed a factory which had paid a paltry amount of money against the licence fee with connivance of Government officials. These brave acts didn't go too well with the vested interests in the government leading to his multiple transfers & finally suspension with connivance of several senior Bureaucrats & Politicians within the government. It was the then president, Pratibha Patil who had revoked his suspension after a committee, created to look into the issue, submitted the report indicting the State Congress Government. As was to happen, this upright officer was moved out of his position & is now heading vigilance at AIIMS, New Delhi. http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/haryana-cm-hooda-slammed-for-harassing-ifs-officer/1/128650.html

With more than four dozen encounters under his belt so far alongside earning some controversies, Navneit is also famously known for his innovative style of bringing the crime graph down. While being posted at Muzzafarnagar, UP, he came up with the idea of making the "Single unmarried Elderly men" to sign a deal with their family members that upon their death, all their land & wealth would automatically be awarded to the government. "Single Elderly men" in western UP are victims of crime on account of having large land areas without any direct heir that relatives take advantage of by killing them & registering land in their name. It was while working as SSP Lucknow that he got transferred when he tightened the noose against the accused who was nephew of a local mafia don turned MLA belonging to the then ruling party.
